We look forward to our first trip of the season. Membership has closed and we have a mix or new and returning members. Please ensure you stay up to day on new information - usually presented here and on Facebook first. eMail blasts go out once a week. Please ensure you are on the mailing list by signing the box that floats across the website asking you to sign up. The trip schedule and the bus routes are found under the "More Info" tab at the top of the page. Looking forward to the snow on Friday and Saturday which will make our first trip just that much better.
We have been overwhelmed by the response to membership this year. Based on last year's participation level and how an increased membership changed some of our policies, we have decided to close membership earlier than expected. It is purely a numbers game and being able to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to participate in every trip. Sorry to those who did not respond to my earlier emails about signing up early.
Our Early Bird pricing is now over. Membership fees are now $150 for the season. We have also reached the maximum number of members where we can safely say that everyone who wants a seat for a trip is likely to be able to have one depending on our Supervisor presence. For that reason, I will leave the club open for membership for one more day. The trip fee, based on the increase in bus costs and lift tickets will be $140 per trip. If you have not already done so, please rent your ski and board equipment as soon as possible as local inventory is getting low.
Membership fees increase after October 30th. We have 7 trips to Wilmot and 6 trips to Alpine. 7 Saturdays and 6 Sundays. Since we are split between ski areas, a season pass to either one makes no sense unless you are planning to use the pass extensively outside of Blizzard. We will be limiting the number of memberships this year to ensure we have smaller class sizes and less bus route switching. The calendar is 90% complete (under the "More Info" tab at the top of the page.) The bus stops won't be finalized until the majority of the membership have signed up (November.) Supervisors are the critical component for placement of bus stops. If the bus stop is not a downstream stop from one of the existing mainstream stops, we will need a starting supervisor who can commit to every weekend. Also, we like to keep the bus ride to under 1.5 hours including all stops (usually no more than 1 plus origination.) If you have questions about stops, please email us. firstname.lastname@example.org Arlington Heights and Deer Park are two such stops.
This is the time and you've come to the right place! Snow, glorious snow, that's what we are hoping for. To get on our mailing list, make certain you fill out the marketing signup form that floats on our website. If you have signed up previously you are already on the list. I have scant details for the season as yet, but will try and get all the details to you as soon as I have them.
