This weekend gives us the cold snap we need!

The impending cold weather will make the ski and board season seem like more of a reality to us. We are eagerly awaiting the first snowfall and the opportunity to hit the slopes. It is not too late to sign up for this season. We will continue accepting applications at least through Christmas, but we will not be adding any new stops after December 2nd. If you are interested in stops in Schaumburg, Barrington, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Downers Grove, and Lombard area, I need to know ASAP. Other new stops like Skokie, Evanston, Park Ridge, Niles, and Wilmette need more members as well. Our stops will be determined by concentration of members. So, if I get enough people from Hyde Park, we'll add that stop back in too.

For returning members, please renew your membership directly through the website as we have suspended all snail mail communications.

For new and known prospective members, we will be having a conference call and possibly a live meeting where you can learn more about the club procedures and ask questions. We'll do it sometime in November. Most likely a Saturday or a Sunday afternoon (or both.) You'll still have time to become members after that date. If you want to participate in the call and we don't already have your contact information, please forward an email to blizzardskiclub@gmail.com.

If you are wondering about weekly trip sign ups, these take place ONLY during the week of the trip. There is no advance sign up. The website will be accepting trip registrations Monday through Thursday prior to the Saturday trip. If you register after that time or cancel after that time, there is a $15 "No Reservation" or "Late Cancellation" fee that is paid. All this is explained under the "More Info" tab on the Home page of the website. Scroll down and read the FAQ section. In fact, read the whole website. There is a wealth of information there.

Our first trip will hopefully be on December 9th. But that is definitely weather-dependent. If Wilmot is open, we will go. We typically never cancel a trip although if Wilmot is closed, we obviously can't go. Just an FYI, we also skip the two Saturdays at Christmas and New Year's. So this winter we will not have trips on December 23rd and 30th.

Next deadlines to be aware of? October 29th. Get your season rentals from Viking before that date to save the most. A coupon was recently sent out to everyone for that reason. If you didn't receive that email, send us a note at blizzardskiclub@gmail.com or check the Equipment Rental page under the "More Info" tab.
