Hello Blizzard Members (and future members)!

This is what will be the first of many missives headed your way about the upcoming Blizzard season. If you no longer want to receive any communications from us, simply send me a note at blizzardskiclub@gmail.com and ask to be removed.

For those of you eager to learn more about the upcoming season, follow along.

The new Blizzard Web Site, unveiled today, is completely different than our original one, now being sunsetted. The content is the same, but the skin is more modern and the interaction is much more high-tech. Hopefully, you will like it. The key to the change was to make it as secure as possible and as easy as possible to navigate.

All of your interaction will be web-based. An email will be the best way to communicate. Most of you know that I am pretty timely with email response. But, you’ll also have a phone number to call. I’d prefer emails as I can answer those while I multi-task, but I know there are times when you just want to talk.

Pricing will remain the same as last year. There is tiered pricing for the first member and additional siblings as before. See that I say siblings. That does not include cousins or any family member not part of your immediate family.

For all renewing members, you will have until OCTOBER 15th (at midnight) to sign up for Blizzard to receive a 15% discount (on your one-time annual membership) for early enrollment. The end time of midnight will be controlled by the computer program not me, so no more problems with the mail or hand delivering the application. I will send multiple reminders to you.

Please read all the information before you call me. If you ask me a question which I have already answered on the website, you might be directed to it for your response.

Additional information on location of new additional bus stops still has to be worked out. We know that the Barrington stop is at the Viking Ski Shop in Barrington, and the Skokie stop is at The Shred Shop. Other stops have yet to be finalized. Suggestions are appreciated (so are new members in the new locations.) Our goal is to add all your friends and neighbors. Referrals are welcome. If your school participates in a "digital backpack" program, please let me know so I can get our brochure into the system. As a not-for-profit, we are exactly the type of program other parents want to hear about.

Last but not least, Supervisors. We need them. From all locations. I’d prefer those of you who can commit to at least 3 trips per season. There are only 3 or 4 people that have committed to every single trip and they are gold to me. I’d gladly welcome more.

Pray for Snow!
